Why Intermittent Fasting Boosts Brainpower

Interestingly, the beneficial effects of intermittent fasting have been known for centuries. An inscription in an Egyptian Pyramid, at 3800 BC , states: "Humans live on one-quarter of what they eat, on the other three-quarters lives their doctor" In the early 1500's Phillipus Paracelus 'The Father of Toxology wrote: "Fasting is the greatest remedy...the physician within" Despite this long time knowledge, little research has been done on the topic. Much research today is funded by corporations, so it makes sense.....why tell people to eat less and reduce the need for drugs when these corporations are in the business of selling food and drugs.....

Here is an excellent Ted talk that gives clear reasons why intermittent fasting is good for you brain.
